Susan Everingham, President, Chair of the Board and Executive Director
Susan founded the Homework Club in 1997 as a California Public Benefit Corporation with (501)c(3) status. Under her leadership, the organization has grown from a small tutoring service meeting in a neighborhood recreation center to a well-regarded education service provider with 12 middle school programs in Bay Area counties: Marin, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and San Jose.
Prior to founding Homework Club, Susan lived and worked in Japan, where she founded an English-language after school academy that served 750 students. She is particularly attuned to the importance of multi-cultural sensitivity and awareness. Susan's MBA program emphasized social entrepreneurship, a field that seeks to apply business methods to non-profit management.
Chas Blackford, Web Design and Engineering
Currently focused on Search Engine Optimization, increasing natural SERPs, content optimization and creation, web analytics, landing page conversion optimization, online lead generation and online linkage of WOM/viral campaigns.
Experienced as both a designer and manager in all aspects of user interface software application design, web site design, information architecture, prototyping, interactive demo creation.
Extensive experience in software application requirement and specification gathering and writing.
Have managed a number of off-shore application development projects.
Fine art and multimedia education.
Terry Thomas, Attorney and Film Design
Currently Terry is focusing on anti-foreclosure lawsuits helping families stay in their homes while fighting the banks for reasonable mortgages. He also has his fingers in video and film, other than creating Homework Club's own video of our classes, he has done Red Bull Ads and is starting a Harley Davidson Reality TV show.
He has an art degree from Arizona State and is a licensed attorney in California and Nevada.
Jai Flicker, Educator and Secretary of The Homework Club
Founder of LifeWorks Learning Center, Jai has worked with high school and middle school students throughout Marin County since 1999. Out of his experience he has developed a unique approach to working with youth called Academic Mentoring, which blends academic tutoring and personal mentoring strategies. By motivating students from within and supporting them to build solid foundations of character, he and his staff have helped many struggling students transform themselves into happy, healthy, and successful young adults.
Jai grew up in Marin, attended Drake High School and later received his BA from UC San Diego.

Yolanda Gibson, Social Crusader and Activist
Yolanda has been with The Homework Club from its beginning. She was our leader in the area of grants and who's who in our Marin Community. With her support we launched a very successful program at Pilgrim Park Apartments for the children who lived there.
She donates her time to countless nonprofit organizations. Her Latina background and personal success are channeled to help others succeed.

Linda H. Graber, Ph.D., Director of Community Relations
Linda has worked in the education field in various capacities since the 1970s. She taught middle school, elementary school, and worked in science curriculum development. Her science curriculum innovations won the California Golden Bell Award and a Marin County Office of Education award for success in mainstreaming special education students into the science classroom. She wrote Homework Club's distance learning modules used to train newly-hired tutors in the necessary specialized classroom skills. Linda is responsible to interface with community supporters who would like to share in Homework Club's vision of success for middle school students with academic needs.
Terry Markou, Website Development
Software Developer at Kennedy/Jenks Consultants.
Terry came to The Homework Club to help us develop our website and our progress reporting system (ASAPLink). He developed a system that works perfectly for our after school program's attendance and parent communication.
Because of Terry's many skills, The Homework Club is able to grow and thrive as a community nonprofit.
